zune
Jen_1122 asked:

I have reciently ordered the zune and have since heard alot of negative reports on this item. I will be using this device mostly for my own photo purposes. I was wondering if the zune is as bad as the reports I have seen claims it to be.

You’ve made a very big mistake. The zune will give you nothing but trouble. The reports are all correct. I suggest you cancel the order and buy a decent media player like an iPod.

I have a Zune and I like it. It is actually a good way to show off pictures. I love how you can put a picture as a wallpaper. People are always like “thats cool!”

Sure its not the smallest mp3 player ever, but its good. The radio is useful, and the screen is brilliant and seems harder to scratch than an iPod screen. The screen size is awesome especially when you are watching videos. I prefer some features over the iPod. The only thing that it doesn’t have that the iPod does is all those useless features like a stopwatch, world clock, notes…seriously you never use those anyway…well the people I know don’t.

It can be a little bit slow when you first get it, but just update it (they will tell you when you first sync it) and it will run fine.

You made a pretty good choice. Other people mainly don’t like it because it is big and with all the hype about iPods…they are too biased to think about other mp3 players

I have a Zune, and I think it’s okay. Not great, but okay. The software freezes my computer almost everytime I use it and sometimes my Zune freezes. But it’s pretty easy otherwise, although I’ve had to use Answers for help quite a lot!
Now, did you order the new Zunes or the old one? I think you should wait until some reviews come out about the new zunes coming November 13. Then compare with the iPods. I think if I could, I’d switch my Zune with a new iPod. But that’s mainly because the Zune is so much bigger and bulkier. The newer Zunes are thinner but still aren’t as small and thin as the iPods. But don’t think me biased! Look on review sites and find reviews of other people, like on Amazon.com. Good Luck!

Don’t get me wrong, the Zune is a solid player. I think the build quality and hard drive is more durable than the ipod.

Also keep in mind that Microsoft is having trouble with their buggy Vista and Xbox 360.

I owned 2 zunes and wasn’t impressed. These were my reasons:

    A bit important:
-Don’t ever expect to use the wireless feature. There are no other zunes around. Think about this: People are leaning more towards the ipod than the zune
-There are hardly any 3rd party accessories, which are cheaper than 1st party accessories

    More Important:
-Videos, Pictures, Album art, anything visual is blurry. Why? The screen is larger but w/ the same resolution as the smaller screened ipod
-Battery Life is bad, NEVER could get 14 hours of video, even with shuffle on

    Most Important:
Software, Software, Software. Crashed computer almost every time, a pain in the butt to use!

If you could live with these nuisances, get a zune. An ipod has cons too, but people dont seem to be bugged by them too much, as sales show
