   Open the Zune program and connect your Zune. Make sure your firmware is 2.5. Click on device>settings>sync options. Set the music and videos to let you choose. With the new update this feature works.

   Now when you add music and videos to the collection it shouild allow you to choose to add the stuff instead of automatically adding it. So when it shows up in your collection if you want it on the Zune then right click and sync it.

   The device and the software don’t keep track of play counts as far as I know. You are tied into your Zune tag and it will show the most played over the course of the previous month. It might actually track the plays. That is a feature I don’t pay much attention to.

   No, you can not upload songs and video to zune manually.
   And here is a step by step guide about how to convert and put video on Zune, it works pretty well for me.
